36 years ago, my wife LaVon and I started a United Methodist church here in Kansas. We built it from the ground up – literally – and it grew into something we could not have imagined. I found myself thinking: "Somebody needs to do something." I kept being called to the Sermon on the Mount – specifically, the Beatitudes. Blessed are the merciful. Blessed are the peacemakers.
