These terms cover the public Free State Tracker site. A client with a login has a separate agreement, which governs instead.
You may
- Read, quote and republish what is here, with attribution to Free State Tracker.
- Use figures from the site in reporting, research and advocacy.
- Link to any page.
Please do not
- Scrape the site in a way that degrades it for other readers. If you want bulk data, ask — it is easier for both of us.
- Present the figures as ours and change them.
- Use the site to harass a private person.
Accuracy
The site is provided as it is, with no warranty. Much of it is assembled automatically from records filed by other people, and some of those records are wrong, late or scanned badly. Figures described as floors, estimates, ranges or models are exactly that. Do not rely on anything here for a decision with money or a deadline attached without checking the underlying record, which every item links to.
We correct what we are told is wrong. We do not promise the site is complete: an advertiser who does not have to file does not appear.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Free State Research is not liable for any loss arising from use of the public site. Nothing here is legal, financial or electoral-compliance advice.
Changes
We may change these terms; the effective date above moves when we do.
