Truth is, I’ve been doing things people said were impossible my whole life. Beating Roger Marshall? That’s not the hard part. Convincing a woman from Long Beach, California to take a chance on a Kansas boy back in 2000… that was the real uphill battle. I told her she was the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen. Asked her to come to Kansas and build a life with me. She said yes. I’m a fourth generation Kansan raising the fifth. My oldest daughter is our campaign manager. That’s what this campaign is about. Investing in our kids. Investing in our future. Public education, healthcare, real economic opportunity. Getting out of the noise, out of the division, and back to something real community, shared values, and showing up for each other. That’s the job. That’s what I’ll do in Washington.
